COMMUNITY VOICE
You Said.
We Listened.
We Changed.
The people who participate in our programmes are not simply beneficiaries of Stow Inspire. They help shape our work.
Listening to Our Community
We listen to young people, women, families, schools and community partners to understand the challenges people experience and the opportunities they want to see.
Their experiences and feedback inform how our programmes are designed, delivered and improved.
Community voice is at the heart of how we learn and develop our work.
You Said
These are some of the issues and experiences shared with us by the communities we work with.
“Women need culturally sensitive support with mental health and family dysfunction.”
“Girls need help to become more confident.”
“We need to guide and support parents and families during challenging periods.”
“Underserved communities such as Bengali or Pakistani women don't have places to go to.”
We Listened
We listened to people affected by safety issues, lack of confidence and a lack of belonging.
Their experiences helped us understand why we needed to adapt our services and focus our work where we could improve our impact.
We Changed
What we heard helped shape practical changes across our work.
Focused on 13–16 Year Olds
Changed the target age group for our confidence-building work to focus on 13–16 year olds.
ACTIVATE – Brave Futures
Developed and piloted ACTIVATE – Brave Futures for Year Groups 8–10.
Six-Session Programme
Developed a six-session programme within a girls' school.
Black and Asian Led Organisations Alliance
Set up a Black and Asian Led Organisations Alliance to support stronger collaboration and community networks.
Supporting Disadvantaged Women
Began exploring how we can offer better support to disadvantaged women from Asian communities.
From Listening to Action
Listening is only meaningful when it leads to action.
The feedback and experiences shared with us have helped shape our programmes, partnerships and areas of focus.
We continue to learn from the communities we serve and use what we hear to improve our work.
Our Commitment to Listening
Community voice is not a one-off exercise.
We will continue listening, learning and adapting our work in response to the people and communities we serve.
Your Voice Helps Shape Our Work
We believe meaningful change begins by listening to the people and communities we serve.
